Born
and raised in Maryland, Ned Ewell's appreciation for his home state
is quite evident in many of his watercolor paintings. Even as a
child, Ned had an interest in wildlife that grew more intense as
he matured.
Whether
painting upland game birds, the marsh scenes of the Eastern shore,
a cold hunting scene, the beach setting of Ocean City or the tranquility
of a boat on the Chesapeake, Ned manages to capture the mood of
each scene.
He
exhibits his work in art shows throughout the mid-Atlantic region
and has won awards at many of these shows. Among these shows is
the Eastern Waterfowl Festival where he has exhibited for the past
30 years. He had the privilege of being selected for the Waterfowl
Festival booklet cover with a watercolor of wood ducks in flight.
He has appeared as the cover artist for various publications.
In
the past 32 years that he has been painting full-time, his collectors
have expanded from coast to coast as well as other continents.
A
member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, he is also listed in
the book, "Who's Who in Wildfowl Art."
Ned
resides in Cockeysville, MD and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
